If there's one thing Rob Ekno has learned over the past three decades, it's that God rarely reveals the entire journey all at once.
Instead, He opens one door...then another...asking only for the willingness to take the next step.
That simple pattern has carried Rob from homelessness and addiction to Christian media, award-winning books, television, filmmaking, recovery outreach, and speaking before audiences across the United States.
Along the way, Rob has discovered that the greatest adventures often begin where our own plans end.
Today, whether he's interviewing filmmakers, mentoring someone in recovery, speaking at a church, writing a new book, or producing television, his mission remains the same:
To encourage people through stories of hope, faith, and God's faithfulness.
A Story Only God Could Write
There was a time when Rob never imagined his life could become anything different.
Years of alcoholism, cocaine addiction, and eventually homelessness left him searching for purpose and wondering if life could ever truly change.
Everything changed in November 1993 when Rob surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.
That decision didn't instantly erase every challenge.
But it completely changed the direction of his life.
Since then, God has faithfully opened doors Rob never could have imagined—from national television and award-winning books to Christian films, recovery ministry, and founding organizations that now encourage people around the world.
Rob often says his testimony isn't about what he accomplished.
It's about what God can do with a willing heart.
A Lifetime Behind the Microphone
Long before founding the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival or launching Master Shot Media, Rob spent decades working in broadcasting, journalism, television production, sports media, and entertainment.
His career has included radio, television, live broadcasting, acting, producing, hosting, public relations, podcasting, and documentary development.
He has worked behind the scenes and in front of the camera, interviewed countless guests, covered major sporting events, appeared in feature films and television programs, and helped organizations communicate stories that matter.
Those experiences now serve one purpose:
Using media to share stories that point people toward hope.
Where God Is Leading Today
Today, Rob serves through several ministries united by one shared purpose: sharing the hope of Christ through media, storytelling, recovery outreach, and Christian community.
Whether producing faith-based films and television, encouraging filmmakers through the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival, mentoring those seeking freedom from addiction, or speaking across the country, every ministry exists to remind people that no life is beyond God's redeeming grace.
The Journey Continues
Every chapter of Rob's life has reinforced one simple truth:
God is never finished writing someone's story.

And every new assignment begins exactly where the first one did—

The Foundation Remains Solid
For more than 33 years, recovery has remained one of the quiet foundations of Rob's ministry.
Having experienced the freedom that Jesus Christ brought into his own life, he continues serving through recovery meetings, sober coaching, speaking, and encouraging individuals and families who are searching for a new beginning.
His award-winning book, Cruising Toward Heaven... Navigating From Rough Seas to Miraculous Adventures, received the Gold Medal International Impact Book Award for Addiction & Recovery,
but for Rob, the greatest reward is seeing lives restored one person at a time.
